Michael A. Neely

Born and raised in Brooklyn New York. I now reside in Richmond Town. Married Maria (Arcuri) Neely in 1984 and have lived on Staten Island since then. We have three wonderful children, Michael, Patrick, and Julianne. I am now blessed with a granddaughter Kayleigh Iris Neely who is our pride and joy. Named Staten Island Catholic Youth Organization Director in September 2014 and that is still my role today. I’ve been with Catholic Charities since April 2010. Prior to working as Director of the CYO, I spent 25 years on Wall Street. Needless to say these are two very different occupations.

I enjoy working with all the volunteers through the long arm of CYO. None of us can do this work without friends and family who constantly volunteer and support us in our endeavors. I believe the youth of Staten Island deserve safe spaces along with role models to guide them. The advice I received from my mentor and former boss Joe Panepinto has always resonated “while dealing with the youth, always try and base your decisions on fairness and equality and always make them feel special”. I am humbled to receive the” JCC Pride of Staten Island Award.”
