Anthony Reinhart & Family
Sunrise Spirit Award
The Reinhart family is a beacon of hope for families dealing with the challenging journey of a cancer diagnosis. Their decades-long commitment to this cause is deeply rooted in the memory of Billy Reinhart Jr., a beloved son and brother who tragically lost his life to pediatric cancer at the tender age of 5 years old.
Following Billy's passing, his parents Bill and Gail Reinhart transformed their grief into a powerful mission to ensure that their son's legacy would endure. In his memory, they embarked on a tireless effort to help families facing similar struggles. Through numerous fundraising events, such as bowl-a-thons, dinner cruises, fashion shows, and more, the Reinhart family rallied support for cancer research and initiatives, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of many.
The funds raised through their heartfelt efforts have directly touched the lives of families in need. Notably, the Reinhart family's dedication played a pivotal role in the establishment of the William Reinhart Jr. Pediatric ICU Unit at Brookdale Hospital, a living testament to the enduring impact of Billy's spirit and the family's steadfast commitment to cancer research and support.
The Reinhart siblings, Anthony and Jennifer, were profoundly influenced by the loss of their big brother and the unyielding efforts of their parents.
Anthony has made a lifelong commitment to public service, always keeping his brother’s memory central to his actions. He previously served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Senator Andrew Lanza, where he remained steadfast in helping many in need. In recent months he served as Chairman and Host of the Light the Night Walk, with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, as he continues to seek to bring hope to those facing adversity.
Jennifer, inspired by her brother's memory, set her sights on a career in the medical field with a focus on oncology. Today, she is a Physician Assistant working alongside renowned doctors at Mt. Sinai, providing compassionate care to cancer patients. Her journey is a poignant tribute to her brother's enduring spirit and the Reinhart family's unyielding determination to make a positive impact on the lives of those touched by cancer.
In unity, the Reinhart family stands as a testament to the transformative power of love, resilience, and a shared commitment to illuminating the path for families navigating the shadows of cancer. Their ongoing efforts serve as a beacon of hope, ensuring that Billy Reinhart Jr.'s memory lives on, inspiring countless others to stand tall in the face of adversity.
